Accepting Jesus As King!

Posted by Paul and Loretta on March 12, 2017 at 10:25 PM

Grace to you and peace be multiplied to you through the revealed knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom. May this kingdom letter help you navigate through this life more effectively.

Jesus has come to us to bring a kingdom from His source. He described it as the kingdom of God. I have heard this phrase all my christian life. Now that I have come to know the kingdom of God and have leaned in to look, study and explore this kingdom my life has changed exponentially. It is my endeavour to help you see it too. I know life will change for the better for you when you act on what you know because you will have answers to questions that will give you confidence to proceed. May you shake off religion and tradition and embrace the kingdom of God as Jesus taught it.

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.” Luke 19:12-14

In this portion of scripture Jesus was explaining colonization and its purpose. A colony is a group of people who are in a foreign land and impacting that land with the will of the home nation. He wanted to share His wealth and to expand His territory. A king is always looking to expand His territory because a king's reputation depends on the size of His domain. Just knowing that can help you know your assignment in this life. In some way you will be required to expand your territory and influence it with the king's nature, will and intent.

Jesus was telling His servants that He was going to expand His territory and He wanted them to occupy until he returned. The word occupy indicated that they were to do business for Him until He returned. In fact He was telling them to make money work for Him until He got back. Some servants did in fact occupy and received a nice return on their investment. Notice though that a delegation was sent after Him declaring their hate for Him and expressing that they didn’t want Him to reign over them. Their poor attitude negated them a kingdom life.

Look at the New Living Translation:

But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘'We do not want him to be our king.'’ Luke 19:14

He went away to receive a kingdom so when He returned He was going to be greater than a nobleman. He was coming back as king. A king is always a lord and that means that the king will own everything within His domain. If He were coming back richer than when He left He would have more to share and spread around because all kingdoms run on a commonwealth economy. They should have been excited for Him because that would benefit them greatly. However they were haters and didn’t want Him to be king.

Now before you go and judge this group let me point out something to you. We, as christians, can be guilty of the same thing by ignorance of what a king is and how kingdom life works. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus is essentially cancelling out many of our prayers because so much of our prayer life is spent on the very basics of life. He said to first seek the kingdom of God and His way of doing things and of being right so that all the things we struggle for and worry about will be added to us without fail or toil. This was a simple command by our king yet we, as the body of Christ, focus on other things than what we were told to focus on.

In order to occupy until He comes back we must first seek the kingdom of God so that we don’t abuse our rights and privileges afforded us through the blood of His Son. The delegation that said they didn’t want a king meant that they didn’t want the commonwealth economy nor the covenants of promise. They wanted independence from the king which meant they’d be responsible for all the upkeep of the land, the streets, the schools, the military and so on.

When we refuse to allow Jesus to be king in our lives we are saying the same thing. Religion can slowly pull you from your kingship rights and authority by keeping you ignorant of the word Christ. There is nothing wrong with embracing Jesus as Lord but the reason He is Lord is because He was born King. There is no such thing as a king without a kingdom so if we fail to embrace His kingship then we fail to embrace His kingdom and the citizenship privileges. Failing to embrace Jesus as king is why we are so keen on going to heaven when our king wants to expand His territory right here on earth. We can’t expand his territory here on earth if we don’t see the big picture of what God is doing through Jesus Christ our Lord and KING! Jesus saving you from your sins just so that you can go to heaven is not the big picture. When a king speaks a decree or a commandment it is law! It is not to be voted on and nor is it a take it or leave it deal. It is always a take it deal.

We must make sure we are not telling Jesus that we don’t want Him to be our king. We do that when we we say we can’t tithe. We do that when we say I am afraid of God so I will do nothing. We say that when we choose not to expand His kingdom by not doing business for Him by making money work. We say that when we choose not to seek the kingdom of God first but choose some other way of being governed. The fact that we are a democracy with a capitalistic economy is proof that we are living in an environment hostile to kingdom life. Obedience is our key weapon against the world's system and it gives us entrance into kingdom life.

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.” Luke 19:15-19

You can see that a kingdom was granted to the nobleman so he came back strong in all areas. The servants that obeyed were rewarded with more to rule and manage. No doubt then that their lives became richer and fuller than ever. He expected that if they obeyed they would even gain by trading. Whatever the king has instructed us to do is always for our good. Jesus expects us to be doing business for Him. He expects us to be gaining and increasing and dominating in the world's system.

We are to be managing what He has given us and making it work for us. He expects us to go into government and dominate there. He expects to go into the institutions of education and dominate there. He expects us to go into the institutions of the arts and sciences and dominate there.

Don’t let Him find out that you did nothing with what He gave you. He has a plan to prosper you and your obedience depends on it. He wants to give you a hope and a future. This all means that The King is totally invested into the success of your life. His reputation is on the line. His name is on the line. So you don’t sin because you want to go to heaven. You don’t sin so that the blessing of heaven can flow through you here in this world on the earth.

And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.” Luke 19:20-24

The servant was afraid to put the money to work for the king. He must have believed that it wouldn’t work out for him. Don’t put too much judgement on this servant. Why? Because when we fail to tithe or give anything to the Lord from our increase we are telling Him we don’t want Him to be king over us either. We are saying we don’t trust your government to be there when we need it. We are saying we don’t believe that the king has enough resources to get a return on our investment back to us. Without principles of kingdom teaching we will fail to understand the purpose for using our faith in His glorious kingdom. Notice that the king didn’t take any money from the servants, He simply gave them more authority to do what they were equipped to do. Look at this bible version of verse 22.

His master replied, 'You wicked servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?” Luke 19:22 Berean Study Bible

The judgement was given because the guy admitted he was afraid and that he knew what type of guy the king was. Well he was wrong. He didn’t know what type of guy the king was. He obviously didn’t know what was about to be granted to him if he had obeyed. Don’t be like this guy. You can know what type of guy your king Lord is. You can know that one hundredfold is granted to those who obey, by faith, in His Word. You can know that if any two of you agree as touching anything you shall ask it will be done by your king which is in heaven. You can know that you didn’t choose Him but that He chose you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain. Therefore, according to John 15:16, you can ask the Father anything in His name and it shall be given you. You can know that your king has allowed you speak to the mountain and tell it to be removed. Don’t doubt but believe in your heart what you are saying will come to pass and you shall have whatsoever you say. You can know and believe that your king has given you power to heal all manner of sickness and disease simply by laying on of hands and declaring that the kingdom of God is here. You can know that nothing shall by any means hurt you so proceed with confidence. You can know that you may have trouble in this world but that you can be of good cheer because your king has overcome the world!

And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.” Luke 19:24-27

Now if you haven’t paid attention to anything else that has been said please get this. The king told those that were around Him to take the one pound from him and give to him that has ten pounds! One of the components of a king is that He can take anything from anyone else and give it to whoever He chooses. That is exciting because your president can not do that. Kings don’t have to go through red tape or congress to move one thing to another. A simple demand is all it takes. That is dominating. That is the way kings govern.

Now take that and run with it. How does that apply to us in the body of Christ? Remember Jesus is king and He can take what you need from anyone else and give it to those of us who need it. Be careful not to allow the word Christ to slip from your vocabulary. When you know Jesus not just your Lord and Savior but as your king then you have access to His kingdom and the many blessings a king can confer upon whoever He chooses. Also when needs arise you will want to seek what your kingdom nation will do for you instead of turning to the world for solutions. If you let the Christ slip from your heart then you will postpone His kingdom until you go to heaven.

Hear the Master promise us through the law of His Word. “That unto everyone who has more shall be given, and from him that has not even that he has shall be taken away from him.” Luke 19:26

This is a spiritual law that works all the time anywhere. This is a key to the commonwealth of the kingdom. When you work the Word the Word of the kingdom will work for you. I like the New Living Translation of this verse. Check it out.

Yes,' the king replied, and to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” New Living Translation; Underline is my emphasis.

The Word says that the doer of the Word shall be blessed, and not the hearer only. Know this; that the governor of the Kingdom, who is the Holy Spirit, will guide you into the revelation of the Christ and His kingdom. It is a faith-based kingdom and it is not for the faint of heart but it is fully worth it. Whatever you wanted in heaven after you die must be rethought and studied next to this teaching. Kingdom thinking and kingdom life come with a steep learning curve but it is a must in these last days. Don’t be like the delegation that said we don’t want this man to reign over us. Don’t reject the kingship authority God gives us through Jesus our king. A Word spoken against the kingdom is a word against the Holy Spirit and you know what Jesus said about speaking against the Holy Spirit.

I trust that this Word of the kingdom message has been a blessing to you. Pass it forward to increase your harvest of hope and expand the kingdom territory.
